I am restructuring my shipping soon, and thought this would be a good topic for the community!

When you order coral online, what day do you like the coral to arrive?

I know a lot of us would like coral to arrive on the weekends. If this were possible, would you pay $20 extra to make it happen?

For example, if normal shipping was $40, would you pay $60 for Saturday? And if you were getting free shipping, would you pay $20 for a Saturday delivery?

Let me know y'all! Happy Reefing!

Personally I prefer the weekend (saturday most) working during the week and having a coral come in can be stressful if you get it, pop it in the tank and have to get back to work. Saturday delivery gives me all day saturday and sunday to properly acclimate it, and monitor it.
So Saturday gets my vote.

Now the scary question.
Would you pay an extra $20 for Saturday delivery?

So, for most orders that's about $60 to ship instead of $40.

Or at that price, would you just pick a weekday?

An extra 20 bucks to ensure I can properly place and monitor my coral uninterrupted, yeah i'd pay the extra 20 lol

Any day is cool with me as long as the livestock is packed correctly for 24-48 hour transit. I usually don’t get home until 4-8 pm during the week, and sometimes the weekend. Luckily I have a few people to bring the box inside when it arrives though, then I unpack when I get home.

Thursday or Friday fits with the kids after “school” schedule. Monday is swim and Wednesday is gymnastics. weekend would be fine but I feel that adds complexity to the process for most people.

I have never ordered coral or really any live stock online. The main reason being that I cannot make it home from work to get it inside right away. If more online vendors would offer Saturday delivery I may be more likely to order online.

As much as a Saturday delivery would be nice it's not worth the risk. Being rural I find 25% of my packages (doesn't matter what) never seem to make the Saturday delivery and arrive Monday. So, I order for Tuesday or Wednesday and just run home, float in tank and acclimate when I get home in the evening.

Wow, I didn't realize so many people had such a hard time with coral delivery.
I wish there was a Same Day option to drop off in the morning and arrive after work.
Unfortunately the best they seem to offer is night before and arrival before noon.

This is the shipping climate today.

Why pay a premium for overnight service for extended delays? I'm actually thinking of a snail order right now out of Florida...don't see any storms brewing and I hope their shipping infrastructure is back on track due to recent hurricane damage.

I try to buy coral from regional vendors in the NorthEast, so hopefully the shipments have less chance of delays.

Let's keep this poll going!
Personally, I'm a fan of Friday deliveries, but with the risk added, I usually do Thursdays.
