what even is this!? It looks like it spits out a string, and grabs what floats into it.... this coral is sick and I want to know if that’s why.. it looks like it stays in a little tube and just eats the string is spits out..

Vermited Snail? can irritate corals. Take the coral out of the tank pull it off with pliers than a dab of superglue over the spot where it is.

EDIT:After looking at your pic it seems to have hairs coming off it so maybe something else.

break off the ENTIRE thing. they will retreat back into the tube when disturbed. they can totally infest a tank if you feed too much. I HATE these things with a passion. their tubes can be really hard and sharp.

btw they can start REALLY small. inspect any new corals thoroughly for these little ****ers. they can also be white/translucent.
