I saw this inside a small hole in the rock. It's smaller than a dime. I can't tell if it is alive or not. What is this? Is it an urchin?

If you see it drop it's other spines, it's done for, but otherwise it'll keep on truckin'.I accidentally broke one of it's spine taking it out. Will this cause any harm to it?

Those things can be crazy... Hopefully it's the Rock Boring type (since it was in a hole in a rock). Mine are half of my Galaxea coral (it was NOT the rock boring type).
Not as bad as my Pincushion... He ate my skimmer cord.
Mine was great until it ate the Galaxea. In his defense, he started on the already dead portion and I can't be certain he ate any of the actual live Galaxea heads. That doesn't sound good. Maybe I should of put it in the sump. I can't find it anymore in the tank. It's smaller than a dime.
