What is this on my foxface? I’ve never seen this before.

Insanely skiddish fish was a battle to get these pics, I’ve never seen this on any fish before and they showed up over night on him. He’s acting totally normal.

the circles are only on one spot of the foxface, i think a possibility could be nem stings/urchin stings? i have both in my tank and they are on only one side of his body.

I can guess you have an urchin as these are representative of puncture wounds from urchin. If not, would be bite mark from smaller fish or sting

i have a long spine urchin, will he recover?
Yes. To assure no infection, you can add ruby rally pro which is coral safe but should heal on its own. At minimum, keep an eye on it for redness/soreness and if so, treat in separate tank with Seachem Kanaplex

I agree, looks to me like a series of urchin spine stings. I don't see this as being any normal/typical contagious disease.

The spot on the tail seems like an odd spot for an urchin spine to get this fish, but maybe?

The only real issue is will this fish settle down and stop running into the urchin? They normally do, but if it continues to be "flighty", the issue could get worse. Try to avoid startling the fish - no sudden movements, don't turn the lights on suddenly, etc.
