That looks like green hair algae to me
Cant afford a rodi filter so im stuck with tap water, i currently dont have a phosphate checker so i cant exactly tell, however algae growth have stopped or atleast slowed down after less feeding amd less light exposure, and the tank is no where near any natural lightPull off as much as you can by hand and reduce white light intensity a little and number of hours of white lighting and add some snails such as :
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus
8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits
Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is your phosphate level? Is tank at or near a window?
These are your issues. RODI units have become very cheap in price and many used ones on here for $40Cant afford a rodi filter so im stuck with tap water, i currently dont have a phosphate checker so i cant exactly tell, however algae growth have stopped or atleast slowed down after less feeding amd less light exposure, and the tank is no where near any natural light
Do you have a fish store that sells saltwater near you? RODI system will be cheaper in long runso i should just buy drinkable water from the store? and also im still not sure if i can convince my parents to get an RODI filter as its kinda hard to explain to them why i need it...
also for store bought water do i still need to dechloronize it?
I usually keep a gallon or two in stock incase i need to top up the water or if i need to do water changes, other then that i have been toping up my tank with tap water and a dechloronizer for months now and the only thing i notice is the algae that grows over basically everythingDo you have a fish store that sells saltwater near you? Yes as its better than tap. LFS sell water at a higher cost but will be RODI versus store which has RO drinking water. Grocery store water typically dechlorinated but adding prime or Amquel wont hurtso i should just buy drinkable water from the store? and also im still not sure if i can convince my parents to get an RODI filter as its kinda hard to explain to them why i need it...
