What in the WORLD is this?

Hello! Just curious what people think this growth is in my tank. Looks to me like some sort of stringy diatoms but I honestly have no idea. Tank has been running for about 11 months now and this stuff has come and gone, but this is the most ive ever seen it. Parameters are also all stable and the stock of the tank is one clown and 6 blue legged hermits. Thank you!

Does it come off the glass/equipment easily? If you were to rub some between your fingers does it have a grittiness to it? What kind of water are you using?

Yes very. Took some out last night and it seems to be some sort of hair algae, smells exactly like it while also feeling the same.
