What in the world is on my snail....

I have looked online and the only thing I can find that looks similar is an abalone. It has not moved off the snail since I got it though. I am pretty sure it is alive as it has a couple short appendages that I see poke out from time to time.

Man turbos are diatom erasers...

It's a limpet. Pretty common on snails.
