I am really think of either an 4 line or 6 line wrasse, maybe even a pair. They are so beautiful. I can’t have a Mandarin in this case. They will be perfect for this tank as pest control.
Definitely not a pair in that size tank.
4 lines are better in terms of peaceful but six lines will result in no more fish until they die.

I would personally go with a captive bred Golden Basslet (Gramma de Jongi).

Since the tank gets so much sunlight, perhaps a softie display to really grab those full spectrum / yellow rays. If so, then you could add a beautiful CB Potters or CB Golden Angel.

Orion I know you like pairs, so a third option could be a pair of CB Swallowtail angels. I think they will enjoy the tank dimensions more than other larger fish, and you can rehome them in 5 years to your big system once they get too big. Reef safe, too.

I recommend looking at;
Pink Streaks (as others have mentioned)
Possums (specifically tanakai and albofasciata)
Blue Stripe Pipes
Candy Pipes
Okinawae Gobies
Lavandula Firefish
Marcellae Butterfly
Caribbean Longnose Butterfly
Black Clown Gobies
Janss Pipes
CB potters

Hardy corals Dino, cyano, and algae, along with a few Stomatella and pods to start the tank cycle. I am seeding it with various detritus and mud from my home system. Trying not to put is any aiptasia.
The micro bubbles from the skimmer is driving me banana

You believe that the butterflies will be okay in this 22 inch cube?

Northern's pick of the Golden Basslet (Gramma de Jongi) is a good one. Show piece maybe go with the platinum.

The Australian Flathead Perch - also from Biota, is a great looking fish that you don't see all too often in displays. Have to catch them when in stock though. Also on the higher price range mainly due to production.

Could also forego rarities and keep various gobies. Trio of Tessellated blennies, starry goby, upside down goby (rare), etc.

Swimming in open water midas blenny or the forktail.

Edit: I see it is up, and fish are in - so ignore me :D Hope all is well.

Honestly, yes. Those species I’ve recommended are either very slow for growth or don’t get anywhere near as big as other species can and only max out at 3.5-4 inches.
I believe all Prognathodes attain no more than 4 inches. I was considering one of the Caribbean Longnoses for my own tank for a long time and still do but question their reefsafeness with my coral I have.

This is an office tank. There are limits due to this:
Limited on water change so not a messy eater
No frozen food
No live food other than what grown in tang
I like to limited on bio load

I have a pair of black snow flakes in it. Will add my small Giantea carpet once it get a little larger from my home qt system. I like to add one more fish. Either a small angel, mandarine,or 4 line wrasse.

I plan to go cheap here but maybe a small Regal angel until he out grow the tank. Rare fish that are short live isn’t my thing. I can spend but it must be long live (say 10+ years) and beautiful.

I saw a very colorful rainbow color Maxi S. tapetum at Petco yesterday. I plan to get him if he is available today. Petco is just right next to my office so sometime I just drop by on the day that they receive shipment. I have to go elsewhere, not return to the office so I did not get this carpet at the time.

Here is the Maxi-Mini. Fairly good picture. Almost what I see in person.

Anyway, I am a sucker for anemones. I had a chance to get a healthy Gigantea and turn this tank into a Gigantea and Black Snowflakes anemone fish tank. My office has Everett water dispenser and this water support to get less than 9ppm TDS. Good enough water for my reef, both top off and for mixing salt water.
4 gallons water changes every 2 weeks is what I aiming for. Also I placed 2x360 Kessil light on it and an MP-10. I will be able to provide adequate condition for my new anemone.
