Just noticed this on my 12” long volitan lionfish. It is white and fuzzy. Behavior seems normal, it did skip eating yesterday, but did so today. Thanks! #fishmedic

This may be what is known as rectal prolapse, and often the tube has to retract on its own
While there is risk of infection, in many cases not.
If fish eats , you can offer brine shrimp which is easily digestible
Likely something it ate irritated the area or was hard to fully digest such as shrimp, clam or krill
