That looks like a cynaria to me, Acans do not get very large they just grow more polyps/heads. Could you send a photo under white lights?
Not acan. Acanthophyllia

Don’t listen to me lol. I know what they are but that 24k one recently died and I have two more. One bleached and the other receding. All other corals including other species of donuts/meats are doing great

Here’s my scoly and Cynarina’s

Do need a better pic of the coral in question to first confirm it is an acanthophyllia.

That’s most likely a Cynarina due to the translucent flesh, a unique trait to Thai species
Cynarina are mainly IDed by their coenosarc/mantle consisting of vescicles; they may not always be translucent. Also, as far as I know, Thailand's stony corals are protected, so they wouldn't be found in the hobby.

Could be a name change / rename but I have always read that a unique trait to Cynarina is the translucent flesh. Not all Cynarina have it but I thought they were the only meat/donut coral who can possibly have it.

No, the main trait of Cynarina are the vesicles. Cynarina are also not the only corals to have translucent flesh; many corals have translucent/parent tentacles.

I don’t know why we are debating. Yes large vesicles (which can be translucent) is a trait associated with Cynarina.

I identified the coral correctly based upon visual review from the photo, factoring for vesicles and flesh thickness/translucence.

You then gave the same species identification

Cynarina are also not the only corals to have translucent flesh; many corals have translucent/parent tentacles.
- yes but we aren’t talking about tentacles we are talking about the flesh for the entire coral and being able to see skeleton inside. I may be wrong but I have never seen nor heard of other donut coral having the entire body be translucent, and have always read this is common for some (but not all) Cynarina

Show me translucent bodied acanthophyllia and it’s probably a very rare type and thousands of dollars. Translucent Cynarina are frequently found and sold. I am aware there are also opaque Cynarina
