Hello everyone! After over a year of cowering. I finally got my first ever coral in my 7 month old saltwater aquarium, but one thought has always stuck with me, how do I know if my corals have enough flow? All of my current species require moderate flow, but how much flow is considered "moderate"? Is there a way to tell? Because I want to avoid having to move my corals from location to location just to get it in the right spot as to avoid stressing the coral, and so that I don't have adhesive marks all over the rockwork. The corals seem okay as of now, but they're still acclimating to their environment so It's hard to tell if they are really healthy or not. The species I have are toadstool, blastomussa, and branching hammer if thats relevant. Thanks!

Hi Tinnerito - Ya those corals you got will not be out and "fluffy" if too much flow or light. Not sure where your powerheads are placed, but if you glued down your corals to where you want them and they're not happy, you can always try dialing down the flow a bit too. But yea, it's sometimes a trial and error. My hologram hammer likes very little flow, other hammers not so much - you'll figure it out.

I hope so. I guess the only thing that I can do is wait and see how they do. Thanks for the reply! One more question, do corals exhibit certain signs that they have too much light, too little light, too much flow, not enough, etc?
