It seems to have more red then most that I see. Is this because it’s small, or is it another shroom, or is it just a good strain? I really don’t keep shrooms and am terrible at id’ing them and I don’t know if this is a valuable one or not

Tbh it only had a little red at first and I liked that it was mostly a golden color and now it’s got a lot of red and I don’t know why

I got it for 50$ cause it was small. There was a few to pick from, I did pick the smallest but it had the most red and I figure it had the most potential

@robanister was able confirm. This is a virtual almost twin. So I’d say you got a good deal for sure

Mushroom hunter to the rescue! For 50 buy more and sell them when grown up lol. Investments.
Yes the others looked like the ones in the screenshot

Maybe I should get a few more and make one of my other tanks into a grow out setup.

Thanks for the help !

My guy doesn’t have any more. Only something called candy crushes And they are all orangish and only have a few specs of green
I would encourage you to buy the ones you like and eventually they will multiply and you can sell the extras. The best deals are the corals that you appreciate most, no matter the price. Extra to sell can become a burden dealing with the transaction costs if you are not careful.

I wanted to add some new corals and colors to my tank, but I have never been in the mushroom market. Always viewed them as pests lol the bounce ones have a huge following but it never appealed to me.

The jawbreaker is cool and I’m going to look into the candy crush. I don’t know anything about keeping shrooms. I’m assuming low flow and light?

Someone here posted some tank pics last week. BEAUTIFUL tank, and something stood out to me and I messaged to ask what it was. They told me it was tequila sunrise mushrooms. So. I guess I am on the hunt for that also. The ones in his tank were yellow

Edit: found the pic - source tank reza’s mixed reef)

I recently got free from most of my mushrooms because they were starting to take over the house. My experience is that they sit dormant for 6 months and then start splitting until they are everywhere.

I would recommend not adding a lot of them but just enjoy the one you have for a year or so and then decide if you want to keep more of the weeds, or not.

I don’t really expect you to follow my recommendation but I felt compelled to give it. I just took a rock with beautiful orange recordias to a LFS and they cut it up and are selling singles for 35$, or something crazy like that. I am happy for them to make some rent money but feel sad for the reefers who’s tanks are going to be overwhelmed with these beautiful creatures.

I totally agree

I have these, they were just a few for over a year and now are multiplying and I find them all over the tank. There’s a few new ones in the sandbed in front of the colony. I found one in the back of the tank. I don’t even know what they are or where they came from, I didn’t buy them lol

If I went down this “collector shroom” path I would isolate them to my 1.1g pico sandbed and let them grow on the sandbed in there. Small space = easy harvesting. I just ripped out all this gsp overgrowth. Another weed lol
