if you think its a general bacterial infection - Metrinidazole does nothing. Sorry - Antibiograms do not lie

Okay, general cure. Thank you
General Cure doesn’t have any antibiotic activity against external bacteria because those are aerobic.

Holy s*** I would probably do what @vetteguy53081 recommended with meds and maybe see if you can get your eel out. You say a tessalata did that??? Im actually surprised it isnt worse, I hope he makes it.

After conferring, go with kanamyacin base. Snowflake can tolerate it

I unfortunately do not have access to neoplex. Thanks to everyone who responded.
Can you pull him into a hospital tank? And keep good water to see if he heals?

Good evening, are you able to tell me if Seachem Prime can be used with the kanamycin? Thank you
You can use Prime with antibiotics, but not with copper. Why do you want to use Prime?

Well, he’s a big fish in a relatively small tank, when the ammonia increases, it will create more complications. There is no biological filter in the hospital tank, the ammonia will surely increase and fast.

Ah, Prime may not manage the ammonia as well as is needed in that case. Even Amquel is probably going to fail. Do you have any active bio filtration material you can move over? I keep a sponge filter running in my sumps for this use, but you might have other media you could use.

Hello everyone,
The snowflake has made it through these past few days. His wounds are pretty bad but they do seem to be healing. It looks like some air got into his respiratory holes and that he may have air stuck in there, probably due to the air stone and his position. His upper portion is buoyant, to add to the problems. What can be done? I do not think it can resolve on its own. There is an equal sized injury on the other side as well. Thank you
