Hi,
I am not sure this is the proper place for a vendor / hobbyist dispute, if it is not please let me know where to repost.
I recently bought $500 worth of corals from @CCK_8814; the purchase included a bright pink goniopora colony, a supposed dragon soul torch, and a rainbow goni frag. If there was just one issue I would have ignored it and moved on; however, there were multiple. First of all, the torch has a complete different coloration from a dragon soul and has just a pale green body with green tips. The torch skeleton was so short that when I used bonecutters to remove it the whole skeleton cracked. Next, the rainbow frag, had pretty much the same issue and was extremely difficult to remove from the frag and cracked into two pieces when I cut the glue on the bottom off. Last, the supposed "bright pink" goni is a lavender purple and nothing close to pink.
I understand that there can be user error and I am not a pro at fragging torches or anything. But I had another reefer / vendor over helping me out who was surprised with how short the stalk was. He was also certain that the "pink goni" was not anything close to pink and looked like one of the other colorations that Chris had for sale...
I reached out to Chris and was told that the torch and goni frag were my fault and that the goni and torch miscoloration was due to just "lighting"; however, the goni and torch did not have any pink coloration from day 1. His suggestion was that I send the pink goni back to him for a refund. At this point, paying for shipping as well as hoping a vendor that was already difficult to work with will send back the money is not much of a solution. I will ship it back if Chris sends me the money beforehand and covers shipping.
I have bought corals from several hobbyists and have never had any issues... Please let me know your thoughts on whether or not this is something the vendor bears partial, full, or zero responsibilty for.
I attached some pictures of what Chris originally sent me with the "wysiwyg", pictures of what it looks like in my tank without any sort of filter, and a picture that shows the height of the torch.
