When having an all in one aquarium there’s the filter sponges and carbon bag and ceramic plug bag do I take all of that out and only run the iv aterilizer or run only ceramic rings and let the iv sterilizer do it’s thing?

The left side is the setup and the circle is the bag of carbon and the little cylinder shaped things at the bottom is my ceramic plugs and the top three horizontal lines are my filter sponges and I’m wondering what I have to get rid of in the left column

What's your goal for the UV ?
Algae, dinos, something else?
Permanent or temporary?
Well I think it’s dump but it’s also hair algae and the dumps are growing on the sand but it’s not purple ish it’s more of a really dark green and then I saw a bright orange maybe type of algae on my sand bed too and I’m trying to get rid of that

Your best bet is to positively identify what you're dealing with, then ask for advice on best approach.
Pictures/etc would be helpful and many on here (not me) have experience and will offer advice.
*no point ditching your normal filtration to fit a UV if whatever you're fighting doesn't enter the water column so never gets through the UV anyway

...my 2 cents

How can I get the algae on the sand bed to enter the water column jjsg siphon it out and take it out and let it all flow

I wasn't suggesting that you try to force whatever you have into the water column to get it to pass through the UV sterilizer.

UV is more effective on "stuff" that enters the water column naturally (IMO), like ostreopsis dinoflagellates that enter the water column at night.
*then you could turkey baste it up at night to coax it off surfaces

I still think identifying what you have first (post with pictures and details) is a good first step.

You mentioned sand bed...
Some "stuff" is easy to vacuum out with something like a Python gravel vac.
Some, like heavy cyanobacteria mats, not so much.
*that's all I got
