Hello,

I am finishing up plumbing my new tank and I am plumbing up my 25watt uv and im setting it up so i pump water out of the sump through uv and then back into my return chamber of my sump. My question is i have a 3 chamber sump and im wondering what chamber i should be pulling the water from.

first chamber i have my overflows/protein skimmer/heaters
second chamber is currently empty my plan was to use this to put cycled rock i have in another tank maybe some macro algae or some sort
third chamber is my return pump

I have the most room to put alittle sicce pump in the 2nd chamber but if that ends up being more of a (refugium) i dont want to be sucking up all the pods directly from there

I think the first chamber is probably best but i figured i would ask

Would pull from first chamber into last/return chamber. That will lessen flow in second chamber with macro and give debris a chance to settle and get consumed.
Doing this in my tank was amazed at how much clearer this alone has made my water.
Another option, and maybe better, is to plumb the uv into your return pump.
You only need 3-6 times display tank gph volume turnover. Less on a larger tank, ime
