Hi all,

I am upgrading my 55gal setup to a 180gal setup. I am wondering if I will need to cycle again. I will be transferring all the live rock / ornamental pieces into the new setup. I will also be buying wet live rock from my LFS to add to the sump. I have no corals and I will be keeping the same livestock.

Current setup:
55gal
40lbs live rock
2 HOB filters
2 Ornamental caves
2 Tangs (small)
2 Clowns
1 Valentini Puffer
1 Goby

New setup
180gal
Sump includes protein skimmer and media reactor
**I will be adding newly purchased wet live rock to the sump as well as old sponge media from HOB filter

I will be using new sand and plan to add seeded dry rock within the next month. Should I expect a new cycle/ will I wake up to dead fish from ammonia?

Thanks!

Seems like a tiny bio load for the new tank. I suppose it might be prudent to install a Seachem ammonia badge.

The bio load should be fine if the livestock stays the same and there's more water to dilute any small amounts of ammonia right?
