i have some that I feed like once a week, and some Ive never fed, they are both fine.

and yes - directly. I usually just put some shrimp on top of them

No not everyday, but they will be happy once or twice a week.

Out of curiosity. The hydnophora posted earlier, what are its care requirements? How similar are is the care to acros? Very interesting appearance. Especially the branching species.

This species likes med- high lighting and high flow. Its a very impressive specimen.
