Guys
This is the first death I’ve had since I reset the tank 6 months ago

Only recent events are po4 swinging from .4 -.17 - .3 - .18 so pretty erratic

I also raised kh to 9.3 from 8.6 over 3 days so that’s not an issue

Am I missing something, the coral appears unhappy but it’s been there for 3 months so it’s not flow or light

Last icp was good

All other euphyllias are great

IMG_3543.jpeg Are you able to check for pests like flatworms?

I had a full inspection and there’s nothing on the corals but I found some brown flatworms in the sump
I guess the wrasses are keeping them at bay in the display

Still same today , expands a little , retracts alot
20% wc done , no change
Going to raise mag from 1340-1400 as an exprriment
Iodine definitely present , should be 60ug/l
Icp next week will confirm
Can iodine dip tomorrow if this is an option worth trying?

If I were you, I would cut off that head in order to reduce chance of any infection spreading to the other heads.
Got ya , will do tomorrow
Was strange how I didn’t notice any problem Friday , fully extended happy then Saturday morning head gone no jelly nothing just head come off
There is a ton of flow passing the eupyllias so not surprised I don’t see partial head or jelly

In my experience torches don’t like swinging parameters and your phosphate going up and down like that is not great for them. Phosphate swings also lead to issues with alkalinity consumption stability and that can be rough on torches. Just two cents.

I guessed so , damage is done now
Can’t even say “ lesson learned” cos if I hadn’t of noticed the po4 rocketing I could of been swinging even more

All sps are unefected but I guess euphylllias are that little more sensitive , so my lfs tells me

Yeah been on the sand for 3 months , never moved it
Nitrates 15
Pars 120
Flow is med-high , by this I mean tentacles sway side to side not battered in one direction

I’ll knock the flow down but the skeletons showing because it’s receeded , I’ve not touched flow and there’s little flesh band on this one , the other 2 have bigger flesh bands like the hammers
Think it’s a indo torch ? Idk

My torches are on the rocks off the sandbed. 250 par and low moderate flow. Corals can be under stress for months before they show decline. Perhaps you are seeing that decline now after 3 mon5hs.
