Sometimes we order live rock, live sand, or other needs for our aquarium, and sometimes unexpected guests come along with the purchases. I wonder what uninvited guests you have had in your tank over the years!!

I've had a couple of Black Gorrilla Crabs get up to about 5.5" across that had to be captured. They were big and ugly looking.

Then in the frag tank one day I turned over a Milka Stylophora Colony about the size of a big honey dew melon and there was a strawberry colored monster crab over 6" across. This was in a frag tank, so it didn't have anywhere to hide and had grown up, invisible to me just between the eggcrate and what was originally a small frag.

Zoanthid spider… I have only seen one. A few other small colony’s were not looking too good so I took them out. I couldn’t risk losing the whole colony.

Youre lucky as they are usually in number and crawl into the head of each zoa and reproduce.

Sabelidae aka tube worm or feather duster. Attached to base of frag plug. It was very tiny and at first I thought it was aphasia but then I noticed the tube. Growing quickly and a nice free addition to my reef.

What was even better is that there were hundreds of them in my refugium. It was so neat to watch them "swimming" and then settling on the glass.
How did they show up for you?
