..Depends on the type of monti for lighting..they are sps so they need good lighting generally..they grow differently by the type lighting and flow some are encrusting some are plating and some grow kinda like acro's

How can you tell the differemce when they're frags on how they grow?

generally buy they type of monti it is..if its a plating monti it will encrust some but will mainly plate out to kinda make thin plate like shelves..encrusting monti's will encrust of rocks and some like some of the digiti's will brach out..best way is to research them and it will give you a general idea what to look for
