not cheap, so i'd say if you are not sure, probably not worth the risk. but not really.

I think they are slow growing and you can’t really frag them which drive up the cost

I have several Scolys, and it’s my understanding that they don’t frag nicely (think ‘round shape’) hence the cost (i.e. they are collected from the wild more often than other types of coral).

No, with proper lighting and some food once a week they will do well.
