Hi there! Still new to reefing and I acquired very healthy forest fire montis. Don’t really have the time to glue them on live rocks, but can I just use a hair tie to tie them on the rock instead of gluing them? Forgive me if this a mortal sin but I need your help.
I would just make sure they are new if thats what you have on hand.

I wouldnt want to use one that could possibly have hair products on it.

Or you can just sit them there until you can glue down

I would not recommend tying down which can leave an imprint on their surface but rater place on rocks with cup shaped opening or even gel superglue.

I see. But how long can the monti survive out of watee while on the process of gluing them? That is what I worry about. I might kill them and I am worried. I put them on a clay pot.

On one hand, this hobby is all about exploring and learning new techniques. So go for it and report back how it went.

On the other hand, the most surprising part of this post is that someone who would hair tie a coral to a pot, would also know the name of that specific coral.

Thanks for that. Research and also the hobbyist who gave it to me.

Welcome - why though? Super glue sets in 30 seconds or less

a good 10 minutes and gel or coral putty can be applied and set underwater in which it will cure
