Hi folks,

Given that the Tuxedo urchin did such a wonderful job consuming almost all the algae in the tank, I started to supplement Nori sheets that I purchased from LFS. I cut a small sheet of Nori and clipped it to a plastic clip with a suction and to the side of the glass.

The urchin eventually found it and it's been stuck on its side to the glass looking like this. This is my first urchin, so not sure if this is not to be concerned about....my concern is that the piece of nori attached to the bottom - would this somehow impede it's breathing...or something?

Thanks

How long has he been there? Just make sure your water quality is good and temp and salinity are stable. They are more nocturnal and will be quieter during the day. He might be just hanging onto it to eat later.

I see a thread about him loosing some spines, and one about him getting smaller. Is he still shedding? If he is, he could be at the end of his life. It's sad, but it's a truth we all have to face.

Urchins can be real goofballs, hopefully this is the case.
