Fyi black leather dye works well to touch up the edges (kiwi shoe polish) if you seriously don't want to repaint it. The hinges do have to go.

Welcome to the Deep Blue Sea @Will Milberger. No I'm from the Lugoff, SC area. It's ok, I know you have no idea where that's at. Just get on I20 and drive 30 minutes east of Columbia SC. If I were to paint the stand college colors, it would be garnet and black. Go Gamecocks!
