Post pics of a measuring tape across the chamber, front to back and side to side. I'll take some measurements of mine and tell you if it'll fit. I'm only pushing you bc I know that you will have invested a lot of money into sps and then it will crash and you'll lose it all. You need to increase water volume and you need a fuge and skimmer. I did it and honestly I still don't have enough TWV to make me feel safe all the time.

Any advice you offer is taken seriously. You have a very successful sps nano and I try and emulate you as much as possible. A sump would be awesome, even if I can only fit a 5g under the stand. I get home at 7 tonight, I'll set a tape across the back and get some pics.

Cool man. Yeah don't take it as me saying that your not a skilled enough reefer to do it. You are. However, you will have SPS just up and RTN for no reason and it'll drive you nuts, and if someone had enough time and money on their hands to test every day and monitor the tank 24/7 they would eventually go crazy and lose interest because it would feel like work.
I estimate my tank at somewhere around 17 gallons of water and I still test every other day AND I have a jebao dp4 that I dose cal alk mag with. It's a full time job, and it's being able to read your sticks to tell what they need.

@ReeferMadness80G Which skimmer and return pump do you use? I'm going to get a bunch of measurements tonight and see what'll fit in that stand. Back chamber measurements, inside stand, pump head height... I'm really considering gutting the back chamber, it's really not that useful and I'll gain three more inches at the back of the tank.

I use the Reef Octopus BH50 skimmer and I use a Maxijet 1200 for return.

@ReeferMadness80G Looks like I'm going with a 5.5g sump... this is/was the ATO resivoir for my 75g. Looks like I need another one.

Oh and my Scottish terrier, Argyle. He was begging for attention/dinner. He's a daddy's boy.

When my fiancee gets home I'll get her to help me measure and photograph the back chamber. Have you ever tried to hold a tape, straight edge, and a camera phone at the same time? I need another two hands! Here's a rough picture of the pump chamber, which is where the overflow would have to go... I'm not sure where the return would go with the overflow box installed.

More pics from different angles on the back chambers, I can't really make it out. Looks like that 5 gallon tank fits good, what are the dims of it?

The 5.5g tank is 8"x16". The inside of the stand is 8 7/8"x17 1/8" and has two cross braces I can adjust to support the tank. The back pannel I'm using for an electronic board is actually supposed to lay flat in the bottom of the stand. I can cut some 1/4 plywood if I need it but I don't think it will be necessary. Fiancee is home so I can hold the straight edge and the tape measurer. Back chamber looks exactly 4" wide, 3" front to back and the third baffle is 3" down from the top rim of the tank. Don't laugh at my drawing, but that's how the baffles are set up if you look at the tank from the back.

this thin plastic cuts easy with a sharp razor blade. Just please don't cut yourself or drop the razor in the tank, you must prepare for both of those things. Cut on this red line on each side and then you should be able to wiggle that divider enough to break it from the bottom. This creating 2 separate chambers, don't worry about it, you're going to be filling the back up quite a bit anyways. Now you should have more than enough room to add your overflow box.

Are we talking like a hang on overflow? Or one to be drilled for?

That's not plastic, it's 1/4" glass. I can cut out the silicon but I can barely get my hands down there and I doubt I could cut the bottom loose. Honestly, I think I want to just do away with the AIO section all together. Move my rock over to a holding tank(sump) with the heater and powerhead then empty the tank and gut it.

Oh my, I figured it was the same thin plastic that is in a biocube. Hmmm back to the drawing board. Unless you really wanna gut it, honestly I thought about that with my cube, kinda wish I had gone that route.
