I have a small hob refugium and a protein skimmer that is for tanks a little bigger than mine.Do you have any means of nutrient export?
refugium, ats, etc?
spiroid worms are not really a problem and will go away in time as the tank ages. But some wrasses will pick on them
The nitrates were low because the algae consumed it.I have a small hob refugium and a protein skimmer that is for tanks a little bigger than mine.
My tank never had a hard time with 20+ nitrates. The other day I checked and they got all they way down to 5. That's when the algae problem was starting so I was thinking my nitrates were too low so I raised them back up. After a weak the algae is still steadily growing.
My coral has been struggling ever since the algae started showing up.The nitrates were low because the algae consumed it.
and then you dosed more? Not following your logic here. Unless the coral and chaeto is visibly struggling because of undetectable nitrate and no nuisance algae problem, you shouldn’t dose nitrate.
