I keep mine more toward the top ⅓ of my tank and they take off. They had a lot slower growth towards the bottom.

very much depends on which one you have. Meteor shower likes the bottom third of the tank. Skittles bomb likes the top third. All the others are in between. I have 8 different varieties and they’re all different for placement.

Maybe your lights are set stronger so the sweet spot is lower?
