My tank has been a little neglected, mostly it was overdue for light replacement, infrequent kalk dosing in manual top off, and inconsistent water change schedule. I have increased to ~10% weekly water changes for the past month or so, GFO and Carbon in a BRS reactor. I have a quite a bit of bubble algae and would like to get it under control. The tank is a 65 gallon, 36" long, with 6 bulb Current Nova Extreme Pro with new ATI 3 Blue Plus, 2 Coral Plus, 1 Purple Plus.

What would you do? I was thinking remove rock, clean bubble algae, re-aquascape or I could try to clean it as it is. What fish would be appropriate for a 65 gallon and algae control. I had a rabbit fish for a couple years that seemed to do well but don't have it anymore, is the tank large enough for one?

I am overdue for restocking fish and clean up crew for sure. Currently 2 black ocellaris clownfish, a bicolor pseudochromis, yellow cucumber, and a few hermit crabs and a 2 or 3 snails.

I'm a big fan of keeping with any original aqua scape if you can. Moving rock and coral causes unneeded stress to corals and sets back coral growth.

I don't really want to move stuff around, its always a challenge to get all the rock to fit together nicely and since its stable as is its not so bad. I would still like to get the bubble algae under control. I may also look into increasing flow a bit. Current pumps are original Koralia 2 and 3, and a Eheim 1262 return pump. Controlable circulation pumps are somewhat pricey and so I haven't used one yet.

An aquascape would give you a chance to do some manual removal of the algae. That bubble algae looks pretty thick. I agree with Otters that aquascaping your tank will probably casue some stress but with some elbow grease, water changes and getting your parameters in check your tank will be better off.
