The Reef Diaper is another alternative to standard filter socks. The light weight filter elements are disposable and the flanges are reused. We have several adapters available for Trigger sumps. Let me know if you have any questions.

I’ll have to check this out. Seems perfect for the school tank where changing and washing socks might be too much of a burden.

Oh nice! I’ll have to check out these. Maybe I’ll use your adapter and try to customize some type of cup

yeah. Socks can squeeze to fit the oval nicely but I don’t know if a cup can. Unless someone makes them for the Sapphire sump.

Why does Trigger make it so complicated lol
I really like their sump at this price point but idk at this moment

Trigger also makes adapter plates to fit 3-1/2" filter cups and Reef Diapers. They are listed at the bottom of the accessories page on their website. If you are planning on using Reef Diapers, make sure you order the modified 3-1/2" flanges from our website. We also sell an assembly which includes the flanges and the adapter plate.

I'm lost here, I've been using standard 4" mesh and felt socks in the ruby 20c sump for a few years off and on. Are we saying that a 4" media cup wont fit?

on the sapphire sump the holes are oval. Wasn’t talking about the Ruby, OP said he might look at the Sapphire sump too.

I'm thinking of upgrading my current eshopp rs-200 sump to a Trigger Ruby 36 sump as I found a pretty good deal locally. I hate filter socks, is there a filter cup that fits these Trigger sumps? I'm trying to find something but not finding much info...
Try to get the cups 3d printed. That way you can get them to fit the sump as required.

Thanks

So I was looking at my drains because I will have to do new plumbing for it. Haven’t decided on hard or soft plumbing yet. My return is soft plumbing and I’m fine with that.
What would I need if I want to do hard plumbing?
