Hello everyone. As this is my first time using Trident.
Can I reduce my testing to 1 time per day?
How to do it?
Can you all please tell me how to do it?
Thank you to those who took the time to teach.

Yes you can! Here’s my video explaining the process. Note that if you reduce testing, it may affect Trident controlled dosing. I recommend only changing it for those who don’t use that feature.

Unit was not designed to only test 1 time per day, the reagents will most likely expire and accuracy will no longer be close. Most everyone warns against this. If your trying to save money on reagents, you should probably rethink this as 1 Acro death from inaccurate testing will pay for a year of reagent. You can also run into heads drying out and more mechanical problems that will lead to repairs. Saving money on reagent will cost you many times over on all the problems you created by changing the scheduling

Well said.

Also worth noting is that there is no assisted dosing with the Trident NP for this very reason. Single test per day does not provide enough information (results) to safely add product to reduce or increase. Something they are looking into but as of today it isn't possible.

I own trident, prior to trident I would only test once a month. Because I have calsium reactor running my system. So it was very stable.
Now I'm messing with 2 part, just for the sake of PH. And by doing it. I had to monitor my parameters more often. But now that I'm all calibrated, even daily test are overkill for me.

If your system is stable there is absolutely no reason to test it 4 times a day!
I will add these, just in case some one wondering, this is my result of testing once a month, and trusting my system.

Then one could argue you are using the wrong tool for the job.

Save the initial investment capital and monthly reagent cost and manually test. Cheaper in the long run. There is no reason to swim upstream working against the design of a product for the sake of a cool gadget or automation.

This is not accurate for me. I have been testing alk twice a day and ca/mg once a day for three years now with no issues.

Thanks! I’m just trying to help others, not looking for notoriety. If you change your Trident schedule and don’t like it, it can be easily set back in Fusion to the default settings in the Trident menu.

Reefer M, I believe it can work for some. Not knowing anything about the skillset or background of OP, it seems save to get more background from the OP before the forum starts having him bend the rules of an expensive piece of gear. That's all I am suggesting.
Happy Reefing everyone !!!

Understood. It certainly can cause some issues if someone doesn’t code it right as well. My experience may not translate into success for others also. These are risks that should be considered by anyone attempting to modify their equipment, and I will try to highlight that more often.

I'm definitely using oper price tool for my case, I got it for my own experiments and to mess with ph. I only bei g using trident for past 4 month, prior to that I'm being doing manual testing monthly.

Looks good to me. Sorry I forgot to hit “post reply” in your pm. If you have any issues, you can always reset it back to the default in fusion in the Trident menu.

Don’t worry about the reagents “expiring” like some claim. This has been proven false many times over. There are loads of hobbyists that have had the Trident test half as often with zero issues. Like 3-4 years of track record here.

The “expiring” and amount of tests per day is simply a subscription model by Neptune to lock you into buying reagents every 2 months.

Well by that assumption any test kit we are using are subscription models. They all have a finite number of tests as well as expiration dates.

On a more serious note I hope your day is well.
