Hello Everyone!

I bought an Apex Trident secondhand 3 months ago. Before using it, I opted to do the DIY Service kit. After replacing the components within the service kit, I fired the unit up and it worked like a charm. Fast forward to now... I am getting a Test B Fail. There is slight evidence of reagent in the unit. The sample and prime do NOT fail, the cuvette fills with both water and reagent. Just the test itself continues to fail. The software is updated. I have removed all of the reagent supply lines and the center manifold and soaked in hot water and forced water through the lines and ports. I am confident that all of the lines are clear of any clogging as well as the manifold. Water supply and drain lines are also clear. I re-ran the tests with NEW reagents, and still no luck. I complied with the Trident troubleshooting process, and it was recommended by Apex to go through the service.

Before I go spending another 175-200 dollars on this unit, does anyone have any other DIY troubleshooting ideas I could perform or look at?

If the vial fills with both reagent and water, I think you have done everything you can unfortunately. Normally the issues lie with a clogged or "inserted incorrectly" line somewhere. Sounds like an issue with the main board maybe?

When the Trident gives a test fail it means that it has drifted to much from the previous test results. It's a fail safe that the Trident has in case it's a wrong test result and controlled dosing might use that result to dose or not dose appropriately Recalibrating the Trident usually solves the issue. If not you need to first go into the Trident settings and check factory default. Update. Wait about a minute then check off factory result if it is still checked and then check restart Trident. Update. Once the Trident finishes reinitiating go ahead and run a combined test. The test results might be wrong. But this should clear the error. If the trident is successful then go ahead and calibrate the trident. If not successful you will need to send it in for service.

Thank you. I am having the same issue. Replaced the reagents and got the B fail also. Tried everything so running this now to see if it will clear the error.
