Didn’t really train on frozen but do have a success story. Only have a 40 gallon with hob, no sump. Tons of rock and always healthy pod population. Saw a mandarin at lfs one day, first time I’d seen one that wasn’t bone skinny. Hated to leave it there so bought it and figured I’d give it to a friend with a 125 if it didn’t work out. Never even considered owning one in my tank. And would not recommend without a backup plan. She Ate pods great and was always plucking them off the glass. Had seen someone post here about theirs eating xsmall tdo chromaboost so ordered some to try. Would turn off pumps and drop some up top. Mandarin would come up to investigate and after 3-4 days starting eating them, would swim up to see me every time I turned pumps off. That was over two years ago, both her and pod population doing just fine.
