Hey gang I was told today that I could use some of these tonga nassarius snails. Anybody know who has these for the best price?

They're great scavengers Rev, they act like zombies coming out of the sand when they smell food. Very fast moving snails. They also help move the sand too

Checkout Reefs2go. they have killer prices on their inverts. Not sure if they have the big tonga ones or not. almost positive they do! Also if you do a group buy they are very generous on packing things seperate. anything over a 100 right now I believe is free shipping as well. Never really had any DOA either!

Check out atlanticseafarms.net . Jimi, the guy who runs the site, sells them 100 for $7.50. They're the black nassarius snails. I'm pretty sure they're the Tongans. Compared to some nassarius vibex I have, they move a ton more and scavenge the glass + rocks all day long. It's too bad my hermits love tongan nassarius shells more than the nice ones I threw in there for them. I didn't buy 100, try to e-mail or call him to get a smaller amount.

Actually. E-mail him, and ask them if they're really tongan. They don't look like some of the pictures I just looked up, but I assumed they were because they have been great for me compared to the vibex. Sorry for the confusion. They look more like Ilyanassa to me, so that's probably a no go then.

I am pretty sure the black ones are whelks, which are not reef safe. They eat clams. Might want to research before you put those into your tank.

I bought a dozen at a local fish store in vestavia for 1.95 each, after about a week, I bumped my temp to 80, and they started mating like mad, I have little ones in the sand now, they only come out when I feed.

Get a large order from the LFS, and have you take it right from the shipping box....they make a little and you save some $$, best for both parties while still saving the hobby. If LFS go, hobby soon to go also....
