Hi Experts, the frag plugs are good in placing/holding the frags in place on the rocks in the tank but in many cases it doesn't enhance the beauty of corals growing naturally on those rocks (this is my personal view only). Is it a good or bad practice to always remove the frag from the plug and placing the corals (either by gluing or using epoxy) directly on to the rocks.. especially on those artistically scaped rocks... any thoughts? Thanks.

What type of coral is it? If it’s an encrusting type, I’d leave it on the plug. Also zoas and softies are best left on. It doesn’t matter though. You can glue the plug to rock. If it’s a T shaped plug, I usually cut the bottom off with bone cutters before glueing.

Zoas and softies will need to be reattached to something. It’s not easy glueing either of them to rock. Acros can be broken off but if they’ve already encrusted the plug, I prefer not to break them off
