Your anthias are absolutely huge! Really nice fish! Plans for a few more :D? Do you have a center piece fish yet or plan to add one?
Hmm. I have 4 tangs and the fox face. I’m probably pushing it for stocking in this tank. But my entire clan has many personalities! It would be difficult to label one as the star. I think I mentioned before, but we watch the tank way more than television!

The wife saw your comment regarding the Anthias and said she’s convinced Reef Roids are the Miracle-Gro of fish keeping. :p

That’s good lol. You won’t hurt your eyes looking at that screen lol. You may be at the brim, but could I recommend a fish? One of my favorites.

The Blue Line Angelfish. Now it is an angel, so it is a risk with coral, which is why I’d only recommend you actually getting it if you really really want it, or are just feeling plucky. I sent the first post prematurely which is why I’m writing this bit now lol. Though if you decide you reallt want an Angel, but don’t want to risk coral, get a Genicanthus. The only true reef safe Angelfish. These stay quite small as well from 5” to 7”. And they aren’t as expensive lol as the Blue Line.

Notable updates:

1) I switched salts from TM Pro to TM Syn-Biotic.
It does mix up a bit cloudy initially, but clears within 30 minutes. I also like that ALK is close to 8.2 out of the bucket (my target.)

2). I’ve taken the ReefFactory KHK offline and redeployed my GHL KH Director.
Pro Tip: using a scrap piece of RO tubing and an extra probe holder, I submerged and anchored the in-line filter and I am getting 99.9% more accurate and consistent readings!

And 3) I’ve updated my GHL Mitras lights to include the ‘Extreme Mode’. I’m currently running in an Acclimation Period, but will update you in the future.

And finally, the good stuff:

Notable updates:

1) Transitioning to the ZeoVit system.
I would like to effectively lower nutrients while maintaining a healthy and balanced ecosystem. In researching similar reef nutrient management programs, I feel that ZeoVit stands out in terms of quality, reputation and implementation. (And no, I am not affiliated with KZ in any way! :))

2) Switching salts back from TM Syn-Biotic to TM Pro. Probiotic salts are a no-no with Zeovit.

3) I’ve discontinued dosing TM Bacto Balance and TM Part C. I am now dosing ZeoStart to feed the bacteria and will rely on my weekly water changes to replace trace elements.

And now for the FUN stuff... sump pics!!

Notable Updates:

Almost to the end of week 4 on the ZeoVit system. (Pics taken tonight after pumping the reactor. The PE from the Zeolite mulm is incredible!)

Currently dosing:
32ml TM Part A & 32ml TM Part B
ZeoStart 0.5ml twice per day
ZeoBak 5 drops M-W-F
Sponge Power 5 drops M-W-F
BioMate 10 drops Su-Tu-Th
Coral Snow 5ml Sa after 15% WC
Salt mix: TM Pro Reef

This coming Saturday will mark the end of week 4. At KZs instruction, I will replace the Zeolite in the reactor and replace the passive carbon.

My experience has been positive so far. I have noticed my sps colors are becoming more bright and defined. I am also seeing noticeable growth and encrusting.

One notable downside to Sponge Power, is aiptasia are sprouting up and require more managing. I’m currently spot treating with F aiptasia weekly. I did not have success with Joes Juice.

Fun stuff:

Hi! Thank you so much! It's a labor of love for sure. But I cannot wait to see your nano come together. I started with the same tank! I will warn you: almost as soon as you get it filled, you're going to want to upgrade. Or wait, was that just me? :smiling-face-with-halo:
