so just stay in 8-12 range?

That's what I like to shoot for. Though... in my big tank, I like to see the range smaller. like 9-10. But it's a lot harder to change the needle on 200 gallons than it is for 1 gallon.

Does anyone ever go back in time on youtube and see how things have changed over the years? I watched a video the other day that said to keep your acros at 72F for best coloration!?!?

I'm with you!! Been waiting almost a year to have the tank good enough to do a TG purchase justice!

This is why I started doing Patreon years ago. I was using all his videos to grow my corals and I felt guilty that I hadn't bought any from him.

I would just second-guess everything, if I did that

Not horrible advice actually. Lower issues with bacteria at lower temperatures.

It is incredible. I'm hoping to talk about two scientific articles from 2019 and 2023 when we record the next reef receipts. And to talk specifically about how much knowledge has developed in that small range. and how some coral stuff is still a mystery. lol

What kinds of bacteria would the lower temps affect? Would it limit fish illness?

Almost all of them. Bacteria become more active and virulent at warmer temperatures.

What is in your opinion, the biggest unsolved mystery in reefing today?

Ok, real question... Snarky come-backs aside, for the moment.

Why have my Duncan's been closed up for a week or so... One longer (one head is a goner, I'm sure) that a month
They still eat when I feed them, they just don't "bloom".
pH?

Any tip on keeping the yellow Fiji coral healthy and thriving? This is going to be my first tidal garden purchase!

I'm a nurse.... Bacteria like warm and wet.... Just about all of them are affected by temps. There's a reason why hospitals, especially operating rooms are always chilly!!
