Having had Cichlids in prior tanks with the invariable warrior mentality, I intentionally choose fish for placidity now. No clowns.

Oh!! I want to see your tank! Do you have a picture?

Yet, they are in EVERY tank. I blame it on that kid's movie that was HIGHLY scientifically inaccurate.
Right?? That was my FIRST reason for two tanks. One pair of clowns and another "rescued" pair. (Hubby thought he was contributing... So, he got Points there.)

We never intentionally go out and buy clownfish. Someone always donates one to us and I reluctantly find it a home here somewhere. We have one in our anemone tank that we have to catch in a cup each time we go to sell an anemone because it wants all the violence.

Not on this computer, but I have a masked goby, a tailspot, pajama cardinals, a yellow neon cleaner goby, some schooled firefish and a royal gramma. 0 conflict and no appetite for picking at corals.

I like that combination! Sounds really pretty and a good mix of color and activity.

I had a clownfish I had to put in a breeder box every time I worked in the tank, she bit me hard if I didn’t lol

I had a Midas in the tank that I was holding for an eventual housing in my sisters tank, and while an amazing fish with tons of personality, it upset the "balance". I miss having that spunkiness in the tank but he added too much stress in the firefish.

I've had a few clown that are absolutely relentless in their pursuit of violence against the webbing inbetween my fingers lol

How big is the tank! I have definitely seen dozens of happy tangs in 150-200 gallon tanks. There is obviously a way to do it.
