Yeah I was the same way, if youre wanting to get into other orals than softies maybe some hammers or frogspawn. They can touch btw. If you want a beginner SPS then maybe montipora. Really look at what you like and do some research on those corals husbandry so you know what to expect before you impulse buy like we all do on live sales.

What sort of corals do you like?

I was leaning towards a pulsing xenia or mushroom right now, dont have much research on anything other than those 2 right now.

I could see that. I just so happened to have sent out icons around that time, otherwise I would have never known.

Whenever I see corals that look really tight/retracted I immediately get suspicious of every magnet in the tank. All the pumps, all the powerheads, the frag racks, the feeding clips, everything.

Don't stress too much over it. I used to be so afraid when we first got into the hobby and I'd stand like 10 feet away when he would mess with frags, now I just grab em up like it's nothing lol

If you aren't already, I'd recommend running activated carbon with softies just so you don't have to worry too much about them trying to dissolve each other through chemical warfare. Water changes should keep up with it, but carbon is good to run anyways regardless of coral type.

Some, euphylia are pretty easy and some brains are IMO. Torches can be tempermental, I had about $600 worth of euphylia dye because of a heater malfunction that infected one of my torches. It wasnt really the torches fault, but the heater got up to 98 degrees

Ive never been too attracted to plates, they look kinda creepy to me haha

I wouldnt mind a beautiful torch either.. I really like their colors and flow in a tank
