Some people have luck with that but I've experienced the opposite where all but one type seems to die. I don't know if it is chemical warfare or pathogens, but we do not mix different types of bubble tip any longer.

Both those things can certainly happen.

Yeah, way too much money on corals in the tank to risk it. Can’t have everything!

Once the coralline algae grows in, it appears seamless and the joint is stronger than the original rock. The aquascape in our SPS show tank is much more elaborate than the one in the anemone tank.

Can't speak on all of them, but my fave is the blue tuxedo urchins. They have done an amazing job cleaning the coralline and turf algae on our rocks.

I have three blue tuxedos. They won't even look at turf algae sideways. Funny how each animal has what they like or don't like.
