Memories... Of terrible photography. I'm not good at it now, but me a year and a half ago was even worse.

This was my first tank, set up in early 2021. Much more recently than most people on this thread I'm sure, but long ago enough. Look at all those little green bubbles on the rock! I've got some in my current tank as well, but not quite as bad.

Here is my first ever tank from 2005. It was a 110 gallon tall. It had an external overflow and sump with Miracle Mud! The light was a 400w metal halide high bay industrial retrofit kit from Ebay. I made my own dry rock from portland cement, as dry rock wasn't widely available then.

I remember that tank. I was so proud I got out my Kodak Instamatic with the flash cube and took a picture of it. I was going to show all my friends and family what I had. Sadly, I forgot to take the film into Thrifties and I haven't thought about it again until today.
Sorry, no glots.:anguished-face:

Here is my first 65 gallon reef that was started in '98. This was soon before upgrading tanks circa '07 ish.

It was on the Oceanic stand for the 58 gallon, but I had to have the extra 7 gallons, so I sawed some wood and put the All-glass 65 on top. Totally didn't match but I was happy!

Actually, I just checked the timestamp. Feb of '05. I still have those clownfish. Almost 20 years old. And they still bite me!

Here I was talking reefing in June 2005. This was the first forum I ever joined and started learning from.

Not my first reef tank, but the first I still have pics of. This was a 450 gallon peninsula. Pic is from about 2001.

No I don't have it anymore. We moved from Minneapolis to Florida and I sold it instead of moving it. We now have a 460 gallon peninsula tank for our DT.
