Hey All,
I had this guy for about 2 months now. He was shipped direct and arrived healthy and fat. It took about 10 days, but he finally began eating starting with clams on half shell. Then he eat everything in sight from mysis to bloodworms to even nori. I feed 3-4 times a day.

Lately, he no longer eats the bloodworms or mysis. Ill add in a good amount for the other fish, but he just swims past it all. He will occasionally pick at nori... but not enough to get a big benefit from. All he'll eat is clams.

Reason its kind of concerning is becuase i can just throw one in and leave it. Sometimes the uneaten flesh will get caught on corals and stess them out. Its a little annoying having to go in everytime and pick out the remaining fresh.

Anyone else share this issue of have any ideas.

Have you tried not feeding him for a few days, then giving him your regular food?
I feed the tank daily for other fish. But only fed Clams every other day or every 3 days.

Yesterday i actually chopped the clams into pieces and fed the tank. He took a good amount but then got bored. I might try mastik on a shell and see if that works. Then maybe go for squid as well.

He is definitely skinnier than when he arrived but still looking healthy IMO.

Start with a good water change and before that, what is your current ammonia-nitrate and phosphate level.?
I ask as there appears to be presence of dino, and there may be low level toxins present.
Is fish breathing normal or elevated?
While I see no damage present, are any fish provoking or intimidating it?
One food enticing to try is LRS Herbivore frenzy

no3 - 5-10ppm
po4 - .15
Ammonia - 0

The tank is only 4.5 months old so dinos are somewhat expected. Im not doing anything out of the norm to treat for it other than WCs and time. All the fish are breathing normal and the regal is untouched by the others. I suspect hes just become a bit picky. Ill give the frenzy a try. Today he ate every bit of the chopped clam so ill continue with that as well.
