I just bought this Lobo at my LFS and it looks like it has a lot of Vermetid snails on it. I have a couple of questions.

1. Can you confirm it is Vermetid snails?
2. Can I use super Glue and close off the tube or will that prevent growth of the Lobo?
3. Is there a better way to control them? I believe they are local to this frag.

seem like vermetid snails. glueing over the opening can work, or just by crushing them completely. target feeding would help keep food out of the water column which is how they feed.

Appears to be. If you used real ocean liverock I wouldn't worry about them. If dry rock then you probably need to do something about them.

I would pull the lobo and just scrape them off base and all. I always end up with them and don't worry much but have had them irritate fleshy coral
Ok I pulled it out and tried to scape all of the snails off. I think I got over 95 percent of them off.
It is back in the tank and hopefully that will slow them down. Thank you for the recommendation

In a tank built to handle "pests" vermetids can be quite cool!

I've had them so long that they end up just becoming part of the rock once they die lol!

They can definatly make for some interesting growth patterns on montucaps. Like you I don't really fret over them but I have had them cause problems with fleshy coral and clams because they can irritate them.
