Appreciate the wishful thinking but def. not this one. On the listI thought it was jawdropper but not sure
Yes, looks a lot like Skinny love v2. Possibly Shazam or Set for Stun. I've learned that Shazam can look night and day different depending on the nutrient levels in the system. From pale lavender in one to deep blue/green/purple in another.Hi. It’s from @therman forgot tbh have to chk past orders. Mayb skinny love I’m thinking. He has the smoothie fire.
Yeah pretty much. I still have 3 tanks with DIY fixtures. 2 of them have been running non-stop for almost 15 years! The majority of the serious SPS propagation happens under Photons though.@therman I couldn't find a post stating it, but are you running all Photons?
If this is the same as that blue one you posted further up, it is definitely Skinny Love v2. Both skinny love versions look crazy nice under ambient room light or normal household lightingUpdated, am room light only….
Hey @therman ... Just coming back to this awesome thread.
Something that really astonishes me in particular is the 8-9 month, then one year growth on your RRC Jawdropper. I'm just really blown away. Do you have any thoughts on how you're achieving that type of growth? I have only gotten comparable growth rates with my Miyagi tort / green stag. Maybe my Bill Murray, but just kidding no way.
All my granulosas / smoothskins are doing great with nice coloration, but man they are just so slowly encrusting. POTO Flamethrower, Like 5 other POTO smoothies, JF Fox Flame, BC Honeycomb, JF Neophobia, RR Avenger, RR Bleeding avenger, RMF gecko... I could go on. But they are all SO slow growing! On many of these, I have barely gotten a quarter inch of encrustment on the plug after like 9 months! Lol!
Getting approx 400 PAR, 4x radion blue g6 running full spectrum supplemented by 2x 60" AI blades. Kalk dosing, running vertex omega 150 skimmer. MP40''s all over providing gyre/pulse/reef crest flows. Doing reef moonshiners trace supplementation. Virtually no other supplements added!
If you don't have any suspicions or thoughts, I totally get it. This hobby can simply be puzzling and humbling at times.
Definitely would like to see the aquabiomics link. I did one on my new 8 month old tank, but I seeded it with Tampa bay rocks and sand. They consider it a mature tank with all bacteria needed. I just need to lower ozone and carbon dose less.I wish I knew for certain. Honestly my best guess is some combination of the nutrient flow in the system, and perhaps more importantly, the microbial community. The system has been running for 18 years now started with cultured Fiji live rock, and still has a shocking amount of that original biodiversity including loads of different sponges, tons of polychaete worms, stomatella, etc. I saw an enormous polyclad flatworm in the past year that I hadn't seen since 2006 (guessing it is a few generations old, but who knows....). I am certain there are original mussels on the rock that have been there for 18+years. Pretty crazy. I did run an aquabiomics analysis of it a few years ago and the results were interesting. If I can dig it up I will post them.
