Just the front Box, weirs and rear lid are Polycarbonate. The rear box is made of Translucent ABS. ABS and PVC can be bonded together. The 3 x 1.5" drains are slip fittings and can be welded with medium PVC glue, All Purpose Glue or ABS to PVC Transition Cement. We have tested them with all 3 and to be honest, regular medium PVC cement works great.

so like this primer: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-8-oz-PVC-Clear-Pipe-Primer-30751/202985691

and then hit it with this cement: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-8-oz-PVC-Medium-Gray-Cement-308843/203477293

Yes clear primer is fine. I wouldn't use the gray cement because it will leave gray color on the fittings. Here is what we used.

Here is what the fittings look like from the bottom. You can see we have a stopper built inside the slip fittings so the pipe is only able to be inserted to the proper lenght.

I can't wait to get it. Got everything together just waiting on the overflow!

We are anxiously waiting for them to show up here as well. This has been something we have been wanting to do for over 3 years! We are excited to get these in everyone's hands!

I just read a few posts back that there is not a 20" in the plans, but I spoke with you at MACNA and I thought you said molds were in the works and around January you would have the 20" version. Am I mistaken?

We had intentions to hopefully do a 20" version, but right now with the cost of doing this 16", we are pushing it back. We have tools designed, but molds are not being made yet.

Bummer. So this 16" version has a max flow of 1500gph. Do you believe one is enough for a 60"x33x24" tank that will be sps dominant?

Yes!!! Can't wait to receive mine. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at in the photo...are those gaskets??

We can't wait till you guys get them! Those are the nuts that hold the front box onto the rear box. We have thousands of them now :) !

Oh man!!! Here comes the anxiety!! I also purchased the drill bit for my glass so I don't think any of those are mine...or are they??
If you ordered a drill bit, they are packaged inside the rear box with the U Pipes.

So what size tank are those who bought one installing this on? At 1500gph I would have a flow rate of about 8x display tank. So I ask again, would 1 shadow be enough for a 200-210g tank.
It depends on what flow rate you want to run. Will it work for a 210? Yes.

We have customers that use them on 29 gallon tanks all the way up to 500 gallon with multiple 16" overflows.
