I like the green one! Similar coloration to a Spongodes but different growth pattern?

So are you and crusso going to take over my thread yet lol? I thought you two worked fast at it :grinning-squinting-face:
careful what you wish for. but in all transparency, some others may be better at it. I'll give it a start though.

I think so. his was more encrusting. not sure how spongodes grows. there were some small spikes though.

I'll see what I can do. still figuring out the lights. I am digging the daylight they have though.

Glad to help! If they don't make it, you're welcome to have a few more. I'm having trouble giving them away for free :disappointed-face: on the plus side though, they look pretty happy under the heavy blue pics you posted. The Sunset and spongodes in particular have great polyp extension.

Yeah it's a Spongodes. It grows the plates like you'd expect, it just grew out of control in my tank, so there were giant flat sections. This was one of them. I have a picture of it before I broke it up in my build thread. I think it was over 14" x 10" (L x W).

Still looking good today! Still looking for the right rock for the sunset. I think the spongode is going under the overflow box. The branching on the back wall on the right.

Mine refuses to plate. It goes fantastic branches though!

I've found that lower light brings the polyps out more and makes them stay dark, higher flow gives it a more random growth pattern, and higher light makes the green brighter.

If you still have some in a few months, I'll be up in Baltimore for a work conference May 14-17! The offspring purchased some encrusting Monti (not sure what the name is, but it's green haha) at a frag show down in VA this past weekend and he's _obsessed_ with coral now. The downside is that he also has expensive taste. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Coral aside, if either of you @Mschmidt, or anyone else, wants to meet up, I'll keep you posted on what day(s) I'm client free. :)grinning-face-with-sweat: )

I've still got some moving of things to do. I may switch the gyre to the other side and I have the power heads from the old tank to hook up.
Catching up here! LOVELY!!!
Thanks! I'm liking it so far. There are some uglies showing up on the sand a little bit otherwise the first weeks are going well

I'm betting I'll have some left! They're not super-exotic, but they're certainly not bad looking. The Sunset, spongodes and green digitata pop pretty nicely under blue light. They'll fill out space quickly too, which if you're going for a full-looking tank is a good thing.
