Loving this, great idea, try not to bleach anything! ;)

I'll be impressed if these 32 watts from the AI PrimeHD were even capable of bleaching anything haha

Hey what type paint did you use? I’m about to set up a frag tank also and this is a great idea! I’ve used black acrylic paint for my main tank.

I just used Rustoleum multi-surface paint. It's like $8 for a 32oz can. Getting 4-5 layers on a 10g only needed one of those $4 sample sized cups (4-8oz?)

Everything is doing okay. They're more or less recovered from the trauma of getting ripped off the rocks and placed on plugs. And they've slowly gotten used to the lighting from the frag rack. They're all slowly starting to finally color back to normal...

And then when I replace my rock, they're gonna freak out again lol.

@lbacha -- I scrub 'em once a month, my OCD demands it lol

Lol, I was wondering every shot was pristine. Mine looked that way until the coralline took off now everything solid in the tank gets covered pretty quick

The smaller stones in the bins on the bottom of your tank the matrix? I just have to say that I’m using matrix in my sump and it’s done a great job of keeping my nitrate down. It took longer than I thought but it works for those looking for a good denitrification method.

Yep. I've used Matrix before and it was too efficient for my tank. Now that my tank has a heavy bioload I've put some back in. Their primary goal is for mushrooms to spread out on -- bio filtration isn't the main reason I got them.

In other news: Minor diatom bloom. Not a big deal.

;

I think they can get a healthy 3.5-4", possibly 5" but I've never seen one that large. I think they top out around 4.

New high end stuff here...

Yeah a couple shrooms and a zoa.. My friend has gotten me into shrooms against my better judgement.

______________

I also stopped off at a buddies to grab some sponges and decided you all might like a few pics -- This is Garrets 1300 gallon outdoor prop system, and his 14" Unicorn Tang

Right Side -- this tank is 20' long

He also has a 900g system behind me, but that one didn't have the sides open -- The side has foam inserts and vinyl covering. Keeps animals from spooking fish, and helps keep temperature from dropping. Also makes it impossible to see through!

Small update: After a year without dinos, I introduced them somehow.

I added a bunch of plastic pots / frag racks that weren't properly scrubbed clean when I setup my frag tank. My friend thinks the plastic may have caused it. However, I also added some AlgaeFix to try and kill off some bubble algae -- some people who use algaecides note that other invasive algae, or dinos, will take over..

So I got them one way or another. They're mostly in my little frag tank, but I'm worried it's going to spread.

I'm either going to do a blackout for a few days, or something... I've been working on physical removal today.
