The beginning… of a new journey

Hi reefers I am a 9 month reefer with a 25 gallon laggon. I enjoyed it and it was a good way to dip my toes in the water to see if I wanted to do it more. I am 13 years old and I wanted a bigger system to do more thing with and for my yt channel after I talked with my parents we were looking a Red Sea reefer 250. After a little bit of searching we found a good 8 month old Red Sea reefer250 G2 and so we went to pick it up. When we got there we were shocked it came with rocks tons and tons of equipment and a bunch of live stock and corals. So much we brought our little car and not everyone fit so we have to have an another car to pick it up. But now we have it in my room I am out of school so the progress will be going really fast sense I work on this all day long. But here are some pictures of the tank and updates of it to come. Thanks for checking it out and hope everything is going good so far. And there is still a lot of equipment I have to put on but we cleaned it and but in the sand and aquascape so far.

Looks like a nice tank! What fish do you plan on putting in it?
Uh thanks he gave me some live stock already but I would love to have some wrasses I do not know if I can put a lot more fish in the tank. Because he gave me a trigger fish 3 green chromis and 2 goby’s and a clownfish plus my origin livestock that had like 3 fish so do you guys know of any other live stock I can put in it is maxed out. Thanks

What type of trigger is it? Triggers get large and will not fit in your tank as adults

Part of the journey will involve learning on your own and also listening to valuable feedback from experienced reefers. From the sound of it, you’re quickly maxing out fish load and may risk stressing these guys out, in turn stressing yourself. Another leg of this journey will test your ability to roll with the punches, moving fast will only make your ride bumpy and unpredictable. Tread slowly and good luck with the build!

Thankyou I hope I am not making anyone mad I am trying to go slow as possible, but it is just so tempting to go fast put patience is key and if he gets to big top shelf aquatics said they would take them. Thank you for everything

Iʻm 13 as well, and the hardest thing for me has been patience, i want to add everything right away but its better to slowly add stuff.

Dont worry about making folks mad, it’s just the internet. No ones gonna go aquaman on you and force you to come correct! It’s also good to take what you’re able to learn here with a grain of salt. Not all advice is good advice but yes some of the best advice is to go slow

What is up everyone the tank got wet today but there is an issue on the return pipe there is a crack. So water leaks but no problem we ordered a new pipe from Red Sea should be here by Monday and then we can get the cycle going but that is why you always test for leaks. image.jpg

Good morning everyone it has been a while sense I have posted but the pipe finally came in repair it and thank god there are no more leaks. The tank is cycling sense the guy we bought from had al cured rock. Me and my dad have also been working on the water flow and we found the happy medium. I still have some wire management to do and some other some stuff but so far so good.
