The "Arena"

As some of you know, I lost all my fish due to Ich. I recognize my mistake and do not plan to repeat it. I chose my fish based on how cute they where, I then pampered them with excellent water quality and a variety of expensive foods. I made sure the feedings where frequent and the water just the right temp. I picked tank mates that would be delightful to be around. I basically raised a tankful of pampered, babies that got a little itchy and stopped eating, but not this time!

My new tank will be a gladiator arena where natural selection is real and swift. I am picking fish based on battle scars. I want that clown in the back corner missing an eye and half his dorsal fin. I am looking for that Tang that slipped out of the shipping bag on its way to the LFS and some how survived even after being stepped on.

So far the gauntlet includes 5 damsels from the wrong side of the tracks. These fish are natural born killers. They spend their days practice killing each other so they will be ready when the time comes. There is one a little slower than the others so he spends his days biting his on tail. Survive a coupe of nights with them and I might toss in some food! I want fish that prey for the itch of Ich so they can feel something other than fear. [emoji41]

Make sure you QT your damsels in a tank full of stump remover. That will toughen them up.

I was at the coral reef today they had a snowflake and a bristle tooth tang that kill anything except each other. Probably fit your stocking list to a T.
