Ok. Well this sucks. Now I'm getting the angel bug again....

Right now i have an amazing multicolor that is by far my favorite fish in my tank. Just because its such a unusually coloring to it. But I'm wanting more back in the tank.

So here is my problem. I have 2 rainbow anemones. And the most amazing pagoda cup ( polyps extend out over and inch ) looks like a pagoda/frogspawn lol. I used to have a few angels in the tank. And the ones i had would nip at any anemone i put in ( now they were all long tent anemones not bubbles ) as well as the polyp extension as well as even the polyps opening on my pagoda was none.

I want to know what angels others have had that have a less risk on nipping those corals. As well as my bubble coral?

The ones i want to get are.

Large angels

Emp.
Blueface
Regal
Scribble
False personifer
Blue girdled
Bellus pair
Maze

Dwarf angels
Potters
Multi bar
Swallow tail
Rusty

I am not going to get all of course. Just the list that im interested in getting. Just want some others input on what they have had success with as well as fails with to base how much of a risk i feel i will be walking into.

Planning on getting them as small as i can find them in hopes that they will not develop the want or need to nip as much. And only worried about my anemones. Pagoda. And bubble coral. My sps im not worried about. And its for a 210g tank. So space im not that worried as well on.

Sorry for the long text.

Sleeper,

I have the majority of angels on your list in my 375g tank.

Part2 375 gallon : Angel Heaven - YouTube

I had NO problem with then nipping at any of my LPS or my large RBTA farm, BEFORE I had a pair of falcula butterflies (aka, little bast**1 and little bast** 2) :)
Unfortunately most of my LPS I had to sell or was decimated by the BFs, but more importantly was the bad behavior they showed to the angels.

I am coral free at the moment, but going to try and add some mini colonies of SPS to see if they nip..I would like to add some LPS again, but very leery.

My key to success in keeping angels and LPS together was constant feedings. I would feed 4-5X a day .

(Editors note to the video: Sadly the Regal angel did die 2 weeks after the video was filmed, just went under a rock corner and stopped eating, was bummed as was in QT for 2 months and did great with feedings)

Sisnyouncheck those at the same time? I ask because I have a coral beauty and would live a flame angel. But I hear horror stories. Curious to hear when people have success adding one when the other is already there.

Derek,

depends.

what size tank do you have? you may see some quarreling for a couple days, but should calm down...but the larger the tank the better the chance it can work.

my opinion, is stay with one dwarf angel...I think you would need at least a 150g tank before I would consider having multiple dwarfs.

but hey, people told me I'm crazy for keeping 9 large angels, so if you wanna to try it, then go for it, but just remember you may need to rehome one if quarreling is an issue.

I have been wanting to add a few Angels in my tank as well. I think the yellow belly regal is the hardest one of the regals correct? Or is it the grey belly?? The flame Angel as well just not sure about that one.
